Scattering Of Ashes
The ashes of a former Lyttelton Harbour Board employee, Captain Andrew Brodie, a resident of the port who died recently, were scattered on the outer harbour yesterday from the tug Lyttelton II in a brief ceremony performed by the tugmaster. Captain F. A. G. Dawson. Captain Brodie, who was 92, was 23 years with the harbour board. He served as mate in the tug and was master of the dredge Canterbury for 14 years. He retired in 1944.
Captain Brodie is survived by his wife and a daughter.
