Tour Boycott Unlikely
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, February 3. It is regarded as unlikely that university Rugby football clubs will take heed of the request by the annual congress of the New Zealand University Students’ Association that university clubs should boycott the South African tour.
Inquiries this morning showed that no student body overrules the university Rugby clubs, which remain as independent groups. The president of Otago University Rugby Football Club (Dr W. V. Petch), said he had received no official request from the congress. “There has been no discussion on the subject in Dunedin,” he said. “No student body can overrule any of the Rugby clubs.”
