Water Plant Overtaxed
(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, Feb. 3. The Hamilton treatment plant was taxed beyond its capacity yesterday as the city drew off 7.4 million gallons of water.
Today the Maeroa reservoir failed to fill by two feet, the chairman of the City Council’s works committee (Mr R. M. Jansen) said. Although more than 7 million gallons of water could be drawn from the Waikato River each day, only this amount could be treated by the plant, the city engineer ,(MnC. H. Elam); said.
