Move To Play Three League Tests
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND.
The English Rugby league tour of New Zealand in July might be extended from two playing Saturdays to three to include three test matches instead of two.
The New Zealand Rugby league council last night approved the seven-match tour put forward by the executive officers, but decided to ask the English League to play an extra test match in Auckland on July 26 or 27. The tour will include a match against the West Coast, the first international at Greymouth since the French played there in 1964. The decision to play a test match in Christchurch, also the first since the French tour, will make the fixture in Greymouth possible. If the English accept the change, two tests will still be played In Auckland. If the tour is a two-Saturday one the itinerary will probably be:— The alternative itineraries are: For Two Saturday*.—July 7 or 8, Wellington invitation, Weilingion; July 11. first test, Christchurch; July 12., West Coast, Greytnouth; July 15. Northern League, Huntly or Tokoroa; July 18, second test. Auckland: July 31, A 0 For Three Saturdays.—July 8,
Northern League; July 11, first test. Auckland; July 14. Wallington invitation team: July 18. second tost, Christchurch; July 19, West Coast; July 21, Auckland; July 25 or 28, third test; Auckland.
