TROTTING Strong Opposition For Noble Lord At Forbury

Noble Lord, the winner of three races and an unlucky fourth at his only other attempt, will have his most serious test to date when he contests the Forbury Juvenile Stakes over one mile at-Forbury Park this evening.

Violetta, ~ a decisive winner at Addington on Wednesday, ' - Bachelor Blue, a stylish winner at the Rangiora trials on Tuesday, Frozina, Local Chief, FrehcheUe, and Micky Dhu all look ready to put Noble Lord to the test.

Noble Lord was a runaway winner at Rotorua in 2:13 4-5 on January 2 at his latest start That time was bettered on Tuesday at Rangiora by Bachelor Blue, which returned 2:13 3-5, and he was easing right down at the line.

Noble Lord and Bachelor Blue have been fortunate to have drawn the two inside barrier positions this evening and they will only have to begin cleanly to dispute the finish.

There was much to enthuse over about Violetta’s win at Addington on Wednesday when she recorded a mile rate of better than 2:11. She will only need to begin with the same speed to extend both Lords and Bachelor Blue.

Frozina, a place-getter at Waimate in December, and Local Chief, runner-up to Violetta at Rangiora the same month, look to be two youngsters with more than average ability. They should have great chances of getting into the finish.

The Southland youngster, Frenchelle, a son of the wellperformed mare. Chiffon, did well to finish fourth to Violetta at Addington on Wednesday after being a good way back early. If he improves as much as expected he should be a danger.

Winter Haze, from M. A. Butt’s team, should be the pick of the remainder. The T.A.B. concession double will be run on the Dunedin Festival Cup First Heat and the Gold Bar Pace.
