From N.Z. Wool

photograph shows, on the right, Mr H. D. West managing director of A. C. Watson, Ltd, Field Mills, Morley, in Yorkshire, England, showing Mr J. Wilcox, director of the United Kingdom and Ireland branch of the International Wool Secretariat, a new light-weight cloth produced at the mill from New Zealand 48s and 50s count crossbred wool. This is a new outlet for New Zealand wool in worsted form and will be available to the men’s wear trade for slacks and light-weight suits. Watsons expected to go into bulk production of the cloth at the beginning of this year.

The International Wool Secretariat has been instrumental in the development of the cloth which is aimed at broadening the demand for New Zealand crossbred wools. Mr West is wearing a suit made up out of the cloth, which weighs about 11 to 12 ounces to the yard and has been produced in 10 shades. The new cloth is aimed at both home and export markets and patterns have already been sent to New Zealand, Australian and Swedish agents of the firm, and in addition the I.W.S. are sending out a full pattern range to their offices in countries around the world.
