Withdrawal Announced
(N.Z. Press Assn—Copyright) SAIGON, Jan. 12. The United State* Military Command in Saigon today announced that the United State* Ist Infantry Division, the first Army division sent to Vietnam 4) year* ago, and the 26th Marine Regiment, which gained fame for It* defence of Khe Sanh, were being withdrawn from Vietnam. The two units will be the first sent home in the third phase of President Nixon’s withdrawal of 50,000 more troops by April 15.
