FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation. —An anticyclone remains stationary over the central Tasman Sea. A strong south-westerly airstream flows on to the far south of the country. Forecast: Canterbury.—Moderate north-east winds predominating; a few cloudy areas at first, otherwise fine and warm. Outlook: rain in western parts of the province; elsewhere cloudy. Nelson and Marlborough.—Light to moderate variable winds, sea breezes in coastal places; fine and warm. Outlook: continuing fine. Buller and Westland.—Moderate variable winds; overcast with drizzle areas at first this morning, but some sunny periods developing in the afternoon; mild. Outlook: rain. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
