Fairlie, Parun To Meet?
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The New Zealand men’s tennis champion, O. Parun (Welington) has accepted an invitation to appear in the North Shore association's Seabrook Fowlds tournament, from January 24 to January 26. Another contestant will be R. Hawkes, runner-up to Parun in the national men's final at Wellington, and the former dual New Zealand title-holder, B. E. Fairlie, absent through injury from this year’s national cham-l pionships. Parun’s probable meeting with Fairlie in the men’s final, if the seedings work out, should be a highlight of the tournament. It will be their first clash since Fairlie had to leave the Wellington championships won by Parun—more than three weeks ago. Parun will not contest the Auckland senior championships, which start tomorrow, because of an earlier commitment to appear in the Wairarapa tournament which starts a day later. Rugby Break.—sl. Sayers, the Wellington representative and I 1968 North Island player, will I not play Rugby in Wellington I next season. Sayers said that| he would go overseas soon, < probably for a year at least.
