Chess Players’ Foundation

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. A New Zealand chess foundation waa formed at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Chess Association, in Auckland. The secretary of the Auckland Chess Centre and president of the Auckland Chess Association (Mr I. R. Mitchell) said that life members would pay a subscription of 820. This money would be invested and each year 90 per cent of its income would be returned to the chess association and the remaining 10 per cent reinvested. He said the foundation would bring to an end public appeals for finance for players.
