Lounge Suite Stolen
A lounge suite and women’s clothing, of a total value of $220, were stolen when a house in Clare Road was burgled on Saturday night. Copper wire was stolen between January 6 and Saturday from a Railways Department yard in Whiteley Avenue. The quantity is not! yet known. A transistor radio, a camera and tinned food, of a total value of $48.50, were; stolen from a house in Bar-: badoes Street between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday. Coins, the value of which has yet to be assessed, were stolen on Saturday from the home of a coin collector in Lyttelton Street and on Sunday night, burglars stole money and. cigarettes from the premises of Marlin Carpets, Ltd, Maces Road. On the same night, $l3 was stolen from the Christchurch Transport Board’s cafeteria in Cathedral Square, and $3 was stolen from Paytons Motors and Engineers, Ltd, 29 Halswell Road, during the weekend.
