OBITUARY
Mr J. B. Morris (N.Z. Presi Astodation) AUCKLAND, Jan. 11. Mr John Bentham Morris, an Auckland Plunket Shield cricket representative during 1951-57, died in Auckland yesterday, aged 37. He was a world • ranking orthopaedic surgeon. Mr Morris scored more than 1000 runs in first-class play and hit centuries against Central Districts and Wellington. He scored 56 and 20 against the 1955-56 West Indies side. An exciting stylist, he was a prolific scorer at club level for University. Mr Morris was the son of another distinguished Auckland orthopaedic surgeon, Mr Selwyn Morris. He was a University Blue in both cricket and Rugby for several years and-took a keen interest in the work of the Crippled Children Society. Mr Morris is survived by his wife and three children.
