FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation'.—A cold front is moving eastwards over New Zealand. Forecast: ’ A Central Marlborough, Marlborough Sounds and Nelson.—Northerlies strong at first but moderating during the day; overcast and mild with periods of fain but an improvement is likely to spread frpm the west later in the day. ■ Buller and Westland.—West to southwest winds becoming fresh at times; showery at first this morning but fair periods increasing during theday. Canterbury and the Kaikoura Coast.— Moderate to fresh southerly winds; occasional rain slowly clearing from the west; cool. Outlook: scattered showers in the west; mainly fair in the east.
