The forecasts will also assist in planning technical and other education, apprenticeship, general vocational training, and retraining needs. Appointees will be required to undertake some field work in order to maintain a close liaison with industrial undertakings, industry associations, trade unions and Government Departments. Each research officer is allocated a broad industrial sector as his responsibility.
