RESIDENT ENGINEER—LAUTOKA Duties include design, supervision and administration of various civil and site works contracts one of which is a $2,500,000 seven-year programme to establish a new town for 20,000 persons. Experience in municipal civil works, sewer drainage and treatment plants (almost essential). Some planning experience desirable. CONTRACT RESIDENT ENGINEERPACIFIC HARBOUR This position involves the on site supervision of the first phase of an 8000 acre integrated resort and recreational development SO miles from Suva. The contract cost will exceed $U53,000,000. Accommodation will be provided and a minimum period of 18 months-2 years is anticipated. Duties commence April, 1970. Return fares and overseas leave. Salary will depend on contract and construction experience, but will be in the range 3F4500-3F5500. Taxation rates are lower In Fiji than in New Zealand and cost of living (after allowance for rent subsidy) are comparable. The Fijian and New Zealand dollars are almost identical.
