The third Timaru woo! sale of the season included 19.514 bales of thia season's greasy wool. 109 bales of scoured wool, and 4578 bales of Wool Commission stockpile wool, says the official report of the sale issued by the South Canterbury Woolbrokers’ Association, the New Zealand Woolbuyers’ Association and the Wool Commission. “Fine, medium and strong crossbreds provided the main offering, with a fair catalogue of Merinos from the Mackenzie Country, and a sprinkling of halfbreds. "The wool from the drought areas reflected the season, being dupty and lacking in length. The Merinos were mostly well grown, of good colour and style. “The market generally was firm on the recent Christchurch sale, with the exception of good style fine Merinos which were in sellers' favour. - "The main competition came from the Continent and Eastern Europe, supported by local mills, Japan and Bradford. "The wool offered on account of the New Zealand Wool Commission sold at values in keeping with other sales.” The following is the official range of prices:—
