Visit By American Team
Softball with a difference will be played at the weekend, when a six-team, double elimination knockout club tournament is held at Burnside Park. The tournament is being sponsored by Deep Freeze, and special interest will be the presence of a team from the Harold E. Holt American communications station, North-west Cape of Australia. The station has its own soft-
ball league, from which the best players were selected to make up the visiting team. The Deep Freeze club issued invitations to Richmond, Papanui, United and Western Suburbs to participate in the tournament and all have accepted. The tournament will take two days to complete, the finals being held on Monday evening. A team must be beaten on two occasions before it is eliminated.
