MEETING OF HORSEMEN
Attendance f Disappoints The president of the New Zealand Horsemen’s Association (Mr D. G. Jones), said yesterday he was disappointed that only 50 members had attended the association’s annual meeting. The meeting was a most important one, coming not long before the Royal commission hearings, and he thought many more members would have attended to give their views on submissions to be made. Mr J. Bryce was elected a life member. He had been a very active member of the association in its early years, said Mr Jones, and had for several terms been a member of the committee. Other officers elected were: President, Mr Jones; vice-pre-sident, Mr A. J. Bourne; committee, Messrs W. R. Butt, J. B. Noble, F. E. Newfield, W. M. Denton, J. G. Hampton, R. G. . Morris, J. A. Carmichael, G. , Holmes, and J. W.
