Labour Day Mail

No postal deliveries will be made in Christchurch on Labour Day. The Chief Postmaster (Mr M. T. Reedy) advises that all surface mail will ; close at 7 a.m., and air mail at 8 a.m. Street posting boxes will be cleared at 9 p.m. The telegraph counter will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., although telegrams may be lodged at. any public telephone box throughout the day. A continuous toll service will be maintained.
