Anniversary Party

The Christchurch Federated Business and Professional Women's Club celebrated its thirty-second anniversary on Monday evening, when 44 members and friends attended. A team from Bucketts Gymnasium, many of whom had recently toured in Fiji with the group, entertained the club. The director (Mrs N. Baker) gave a talk on the founding of Bucketts Gymnasium by her father 60 years ago. and discussed the Fiji tour. Fiji is a country of particular interest to the New Zealand Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs as it is considering a training programme for Fijian women as a project A birthday cake, made by Mrs L. McNeill, was cut by Miss I. Merry, who joined the club in March, 1938, a few months after it was founded.
