Want Photos Made Public

(N.Z. Press Association} WELLINGTON. Photo finishes consulted by judges at New Zealand athletic championships may be made available to the public. This move will be recommended to the annual meeting of the national association by the Wellington centre. The secretary, Mr W. J. A. Livingstone, told the centre’s annual meeting: “This would also prevent the back door rumours that can circulate at the national championships.” Prints of the photo finishes “suitably displayed” and released to the press is advocated in the remit.

A New Zealand women’s road race championship a two-mile team and individual event—will also be recommended to the national association. At present, an unofficial women’s event is held in conjunction with the national senior and junior road race championships. The Wellington decision follows a similar move by the West Coast-North Island centre which decided at its annual meeting on Saturday to recommend the institution of a women’s road championship.
