Piko For Derby
The Matangi owner-trainer, Mr I. Robinson, .plans to fly Plko south for the New Zealand Derby on November 8, The Wellington Guineas will be Piko’i only race at the Wellington spring meeting. Ptko w|U be taken home after the Wellington Guineas and will be prepared for the Avondale Guineas on November 1- Then he will be Down south for the New Zealand Derby. Plko's etablemate, Bardali; may also be brought south for racing at Rlecarton. Mr Robinson had a 840,000 American offer for Bar4all last week, but he is doubtful If the four-year-old would pass a veterinary test because of foot trouble, which stems from a circulatory weakness. Bardali won the Great Northern Derby last season.
