News Media And “Prdtection”
Sir,—ln Saturday morning’s issue I read a statement made by Mrs Kirk in Auckland that the news media protected the National Party. I have written , many Jotters to newspapers giving details of a gang of Labour conscientious objectors who got Into power, then > twisted . their policy to con-, script men tb face a death ; they would not face them-; selves. The newspapers either <
leave.out the parts that sting or refuse to print the letters. 1 One newspaper offered the lame excuse that 1 was raking over dead coals. No newspapers denied the facts. If this is not protecting the Labour Party I would like some responsible person to tell me what it really is.—Yours, etc.. WEST COAST. October 11, 1969.
