16 Groups Benefit Sixteen welfare and social service organisations in Christchurch, one in Waimate and 6ne.in Nelson will benefit from grants made recently by the J. R. McKenzie Trust Board.. • This year grants amounting to $133,700 have been made to organisations throughout New Zealand by the trust, bringing the amount distributed since its inception to $1,644,400. . Of the $133,700 approved this year, $38,850 was for aid for-children’s work, $38,150 for youth work, $28,000 for welfare, $14,800 for the care of the aged, $11,200 for research and $2700 for educational work. The Christchurch organisations which will benefit are-. Abilities Christchurch, *360: the Christchurch Aged People’s Welfare Council. *3900; the Christchurch Children’s Homes Combined Appeal Trust Board. *2350; the Christchurch Special Class After-care Society, *350; the Cholmondeley Children’s Home. *650; the Canterbury Sheltered Workshop Association. *300; Catholic Social Services. *350; the Christchurch Methodist Central Mission’s Rehua Maori Boys’ Hostel, social service department and “LifeLine." *550: the Christchurch Combined Churches Hospital Patients' Adoption Trust Board, *100; the Don McKentle Memorial Hall. *200; the Disturbed Children’s Aid Movement, *200; Lister House Incorporated, *300; the Nurse Maude District Nursing Association, WOO; Sir John McKenzie Memorial Children’s Library, *200; Mothers’ Helpers Association (Waimate). *100: the St Andrew’s Home Society, *200; the Veterans’ Association of Army. Navy and Auxiliary Forces, *lOO. and the Whakarewa School Trust Board (Waimea), *5OO.
