SAM TRYAX IN FORM

Sam Tryax started his three-year-old career on a winning note in the University Handicap at Forbury Park on Saturday, but he gave his host of supporters plenty of cause for concern when Fantastic ran him to a short head. Mayo Gold To Come Home (N.Z.PjI. Staff Correspondent) MELBOURNE. Th* champion New Zealand mare, Mayo Gold, and hl* stablemate. City Court, will be shipped home next week. The pair will leave on the trans-Tasman freighter Marama. on Tuesday their trainer, R. J. Wallace, said yesterday. "Neither of them has come right in Australia and they are far too Valuable to take any risks with." Wallace said. Both gallopers were scratched from their engagements at Caulfield on Saturday. Wallace said Mayo Gold had been off her food since arriving in Australia and she had still not picked up after being moved from Sydney to Melbourne last week. Mayo Gold raced only once.
