Folk Society
The field collection of early New Zealand songs and information on the nation’s whaling days was progressing well, the annual meeting of the New Zealand Folk Lore Society was told yesterday. Two lots gathered in the collection had been forwarded to Wellington and would be given to the Alexander Turnbull Library. Officers elected were: Chairman, Mr P. H. Garland; secretary, Mr B. Corbett; treasurer, Mr P. A. Maxwell; committee, Messrs B. Milne and M. H. Garland.
