Ports Decision Welcomed

WELLINGTON, Oct. 8.
“Time is fast running out and a special meeting of the board will probably have to be called early this month because of toe urgency of ordering equipment for the container berth,” said toe chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board (Mr E. M. Hodder) today. He was commenting on the recommendations by toe Ports Authority which, he said, were very welcome, and on what steps the board would now have to take.
“But we would also be very pleased to hear of the Government’s approval or otherwise of these recommendations. It is still a question of Government decision,” he said.
