Parliament’s Diary
The Fisheries Amendment (No. 2) Bill and the Rehabilitation Amendment Bill were each read a third time and passed when Parliament resumed yesterday afternoon. Ministers answered 12 questions. The annual report of the Fishing Industries Board was tabled.
The social Security (Reciprocity with United Kingdom) Bill was passed through its committee stage. The Local Legislation Bill and the Public Bodies Leases Bill were returned by the Local Bills Committee as ready to proceed with amendments. Notifications of bills to be introduced included the Monopolies and Mergers Bill, sponsored by Mr W. E. Rowling (Lab., Buller). The house continued to discuss legislation.
