Mcßae Will Drive McLaren

AUCKLAND.

The top-line Wellington driver, G. Mcßae, will be the first New Zealander to drive a McLaren MIOA Formula A single-seater racing car in competition in New Zealand.

The car, which Mcßae had hoped to have ready for the beginning of the season at Pukekohe last month and Bay Park last week-end, arrived this week, and the V 8 470 brake horsepower Chevrolet V 8 and spares are expected by air before toe week-end. Mcßae expects the spares to bring the specification up to that of the MIOB, which will shortly go into production at toe Trijan factory which builds toe cars under an agreement with McLaren. Mcßae will prepare his new car for toe next Gold Star meeting, at Bay Park, on November 16.

D. Marwood (Eisert-Chevro-let V 8) already has 17 points from a win at Pukekohe and a second at Bay Park, and G. Lawrence (Ferrari 2.4 V 6) has 10 from his win at Bay Park.
