Men To Stay On Island

WELLINGTON, October 8.

The coaster Holmdale left Wellington yesterday afternoon with a party of nine men who will stay 12 months on Campbell Island. With them are four departmental inspectors, and the ship will bring back men who have done their year’s tour of duty. In charge of the party is Mr P. Julius and the others are Messrs D. Pauli (senior meteorological observer), M. Crompton, M. O’Donahue, H. Carr (all meteorological observers), P. Owens (ionosphere observer), H. Dazeley (mechanic), B. George (cook), and C. Brunton (telecommunications technician). The Holmdale which is due back in Wellington on October 20, will also call at the Chatham Islands.
