Appeal For
Halls
The amount promised by contributors to the combined appeal for church halls of residence at the University of Canterbury is now $251,347. The appeal committee has received $193,568 and so far $153,000 has been distributed to the organisations building the three church halls at Ilam. The halls are Christchurch College (Anglican), Rochester Hall (Roman Catholic) and Rutherford Hall (Presby-terian-Methodist) .
Fewer than 100 persons who promised gifts are in arrears with contributions and the amount involved is about $2OOO.
