Patterson. Altogether 1* national representatives took part. The ground, which Is In an early stage of development, was hard and bumpy, making trapping and dribbling difficult, but the players showed considerable skill in coping with the conditions. The final score was 2-2. The teams were: RedcJfts: R. McHarg: R. H. Campbell, c. R. meson: G. Haste, A. Ineson, G. Marshall; B. R. Judge, J. H. Christensen, G. Judge. K. Kiernan, R. Woods. Thomas, W Wright played in the second half There was ample teal in the proceedings, both teams attacking with speed and aggression, and the result fairly indicated the run of play . The erratic behaviour of the bail interfered with combined movements, so that the best form of progress was by dribbling. The quality of the dribbling was often high, being best expressed by B. It. Judge. Christensen, W. Thomson. B. J. Malster and Borren. The respective half-Hnes also performed valiantly, giving their forwards good support and receiving from them many useful back passes.
The success of the forwards In threading their way through groups of opponents demanded resolute tackling In deep defence, and the four backs dealt with this requirement competently. Both McHarg and Stuthrldge made good saves and showed speed in clearing the ball from the goalmouth, a
necessary virtue because of the speed to the loose ball of thej inside forwards In each team. I . Marshall and B. R. Judge! scored tot Redcliffs, and Borren and Thomae scored (or the In-1 vltstlon team. The umpires] were R. H. Campbell and C. B; Walter.
