"The rehabilitated addict is most important of all and we are trying to raise funds now to establish a separate centre for the rehabilitated.” Mr Sharpies believes that addiction is a constant problem in society, and that an industrialised society makes the pressures on people greater, and instances of drug addiction more likely. “Addiction will always be around—and if this fact can be accepted, the need for cure may be realised.”
