Commonwealth Meeting
The president of the Royal Agricultural Society of New Zealand, Mr J. H. Rutherford, of Feilding, left New Zealand last week to deliver a paper on “Agricultural Education in New Zealand” at the conference of the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth in Nairobi, Kenya.
The conference is held biannually and covers a period
of 10 days. This year it includes three days of business sessions; two days at the Kenya Royal Show, Nairobi, [at which Mr Rutherford will be judging the Romney sheep; and five days of visits to research institutions and farms. | The conference has official delegates from Canada, Scotland, Wales, England, and Ireland, all states of Australia, Kenya, Zambia, and New Zealand. There are many other unofficial delegates from ■ other Commonwealth countries. The Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth was set up in 1957 to strengthen relations between Commonwealth countries.
I Mr Rutherford will be sup[porting New Zealand's application for the 1971 conference of the society.
