Society’s Booklet On Fishing Regulations
This year for the first time the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society will issue to all fishermen a condensed simplified summary
of the regulations governing fishing in the province. The summary is contained in a booklet to be issued when fishermen obtain their licences. It deals with matters relating to limit bags, high country waters, closed waters, fishing methods, selling and canning. It also gives a summary of the main New Zealand angling regulations. The booklet gives information about legal methods in all rivers from the Avon to the Rakaia indicating exactly what areas are fishable at what times. The booklet details what is meant by high country waters and which are closed waters. Information about the kind of bait is included.
