CHARGE OF ASSAULT
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 21. A 65-year-old man appeared in the Wellington Magistrate’s Court yesterday charged with assaulting a man who was found dead outside a public lavatory in the suburb of Brooklyn late on Friday night The dead man was identified as: Cornelius Johannes Danden, aged 35, a native of the Netherlands, and coproprietor of a Wellington boarding house.
No plea was taken when the man was charged with assaulting Mr Danden. Bail was allowed, and he was remanded until Wednesday. His name was suppressed.
