White Regimes Criticised
(N Z P A.-Reuter—Copyright) NEW YORK, Sept 21.
The Finnish Foreign Mini--ter (Dr Ahti Karjalainen) has bitterly attacked white supremist regimes In southern Africa, and has called for China’s admission to the United Nations. Dr Karjalainen, representing a country that has often contributed to the United Nations peace-keeping forces, put special emphasis on Finland’s traditional neutrality in world affairs when he addressed the General Assembly on Friday.
Finland, which borders the Soviet Union, noted with “grave concern” the new dimension of international tension which had emerged in the Far East, he said. Dr Karjalainen, who was thought to have been referring to recent armed clashes on the Soviet-Chinese border, said this tension cast its shadow over the world scene as a whole.
