Brighton Beaches Cleaned
Almost three tons of rub> bish was collected by 250 cubs, scouts and venturer scouts in two hours and a half on the Waimairl-New Brighton seafront on Saturday morning. The clean-up extended from Broad Park, Waimairi, to the South Brighton Surf Life-saving Club’s building.
Included among the refuse turned up were broken bottles, rusty roofing-iron, an old heater, barbed wire, fence posts and three dead eels.
