If all six winners are npt picked the pool will be carried on to the opening night of the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting’ an September 20. The last of the jackpot events, the Borough Handicap, Is also the second leg of the T.A.B, concession double. It looks one of the trickiest races of the night. Not only is there a big "if" about the prospects of a number of the candidates beginning safely but the two last-start winners. Heroic Scott and Inflammable, have not had the benefits of runs al matinees. Neither has Mysore, which has a remarkably consistent record in a career severely restricted by unaoundness.

Both inflammable and Mysore have, however, been working well, and P. R. Hansen,.Heroic Seott's trainer-driver, seldom makes the-trtp from Palmqrston North without having very good chance. of those in the Borough Handicap which have competed at matinees. Warrior Bold;. Frisky and King High look to have the best prospects. , Hi Mundy, winner of three of her .last four races last season, will have a big following in the Cambridge Trotting Cup, the first leg of the T.A.B. double. She has shaped pleasingly in runs at matinees. Hi Mundy’s strongest opposition may be provided by Vice Royal and Henry Allan, although Single Trix, Honest Sal , and Walrimu are bound to carry solid support. Rain tn the last few days has not affected the track, which, unless there is more rain, will be fast.
