Elingamite Coins
Sets of silver coins from the wreck of the Elingamite, recovered last year by a diving party led by Mr W. Doak, of Auckland, are now being offered for sale to tire public by the party’s South Island agent, Mr R. Hunt, of New Brighton. The coins. Which lay for more than 60 years under the sea, have been sufficiently cleaned for the dates and inscriptions on them to be legible. The Eltagamite was wrecked at the Three Kings Islands on November 9, 1902, with the loss of 45 lives.
