THE OUTSTANDING YORKSHIRE batsman, P. J. Sharpe, who has been in grand form for England in the cricket test matches againstNew Zealand. On the second day of the second test, Sharpe scored 103 not out and in the first innings of the third test he reached 48 before being dispatched 1.b.w. by the New Zealand fast bowler, R. C. Motz. This wicket took Motz’s number of dismissals In test cricket to 100. He is the first New Zealand player to reach this figure. The wicket-keeper in the picture is K. J. Wadsworth, of New Zealand.
