Splendid wins by Allakasam and Diarac and bold showings by Indecision, Good Chase and Curragh Dan were features at the trials held yesterday at Methven by the Mid-Canterbury Owners and Breeders’ Association.

The trials were held in fine weather, with the track easy. The qualifying trials and two-year-old parade were run next to the rails, but the other events were run about 20 feet out. Good Chase and Morris; Scot drifted to the rear of! the field from the start of the first heat of the free-for-all. Indecision began best, but be was steadied behind Chief Judge after two furlongs. The peee was slack and a number of the numen, including Indecision, pulled hard. Morris Scot took over near the six furlongs and he was joined by Royal Walk on the home turn. Allakasam and! Good Chase were just behind them, with the others several lengths back. Allakasam took control early in the rat home and came on » win handily by two length* after recording 3:44 for the 1» fur* longs, the tert teUf-mHe to 1:3 2-5. Allakasam looks improved by the race she had in the National Handicap at Addington Raceway last week. 3he will probably race next in the Laing Handicap at the New Brighton meeting on Saturday week. Indecision went well considering his long lay-off. He held second by four lengths from Good Chase, which dropped out a Utile in the run home. The run is certain to improve him. He will probably resume racing at the New Brighton meeting. Curregh Dan, another re-' turning to racing after an enforced Bpell was one of the tailenders starting the last half-mile. He made up a lot of ground and was going well toward* the finish. Menu Scot, which is at the improving stage, finished a fair fifth, ahead of Golden Fleece, which made up ground over the last halfmile, Glenda Hanover and Bethet Diaroe was a class above his rivals in the second heat, drawing out in the run home to win by 10 lengths after re-

Two-jear-old* The two heats of the two-year-old parade attracted great interest, the youngster* impressing by their forward condition. Violetta, a filly by Bachelor Hanover from Hay Day, ■sped over her first two of six furlongs in little worse than 3lsec and came right away to win by 10 lengths after asking 1:37 1-5 for the full distance, and 1:5 for her last half irii’e mare.
