Box 956, Dunedin. 7575 WEST COAST HOSPITAL BOARD SPECIALIST IN OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGY A NEW POST has been created by the West Coast Hospital Board and applications are invited from Specialists in this field who qualified as such under the Hospital Employment Regulations, 1.e., have been qualified 8 years, hold an appropriate higher qualification and have had at least 5 years experience in this speciality. Essentially the appointee will take charge of and supervise the Board’s Obstetric with Gynaecological services throughout the whole West Coast. He will be resident in Greymouth and it is the Board's policy that major Gynaecological surgery be done at this hospital by the appointee. With impending departure of a practitioner with a large obstetric practice, opportunity to enter this field on a Specialist basis is good. The appointee would be required to administer the maternity unit in Greymouth, and supervise, guide and advise the medical and nursing staffs of the Board's other Obstetric units which hospitals he would visit from time to time, for consulting and advisory purposes in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology undertaking such lesser operative work as he thought proper. Salary scale $6090-$BlOO. Special incentive allowance for Hospital Medical Officers employed on the West Coast ranging from $3OO-8400. This is a new post and the Board is willing to appoint a suitable applicant on either a full time or 9/10 basis.
