Chocolate Fish

Sir,—l wish to bring to the notice of the public a flagrant example of profiteering. Before the change to decimal currency chocolate fish retailed at 3d each. After the change the price increased to 3c, and, in spite of the claims of the manufacturers, there was no corresponding increase in the weight of the fish. Now the price is 4c. This represents an increase in cost of 60 per cent over a period of two years—an unjustifiably large inflation. The public should protest against the exploitation of a minority group who consider chocolate i fish an essential, but now ' prohibitively expensive, part , of their diet.—Yours, etc, PISCES CHOCOLATI ET MINIMI. , July 24, 1969. ! [The Auckland manufac- ■ turer to whom this letter was I sent for comment, has not replied.]
