Waimairi Poll An election will be held on Wednesday, October 1, if necessary, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation last week of Cr O. C. Mitchell from one of. the Fendalton riding seats oh the Waimairi County Council. Nominations will close at noon on September 2, and the supplementary roll of electors will close on September 9. Cadet Courses • About 350 Army cadets : from South Island school i units are at present taking training courses at Burnham Military Camp. Two courses are being held. They began on Saturday and will continue until September L One is for qualification for non-commis-sioned rank and the other is for senior non-commissioned officers. Two hundred and forty-two cadets are taking the former course and 124 the latter. The training is under the direction of the commander of the Dunedin Army area (Major C. R. Hatherley).
