WALLABIES PROTECTED
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 21. If Australian authorities decide against the reintroduction from New Zealand of the parma wallaby an attempt will be made to build up strong colonies to the Auckland and Wellington Zoos, says the annual- report of the DirectorGeneral of Forests, tabled in Parliament Land development on Kawau Island is reducing the habitat of the wallaby, and to safeguard it- from extinction the taking, killing or possession of parma wallabies on Kawau has been prohibited.
