Name Of Convolvulus

Convolvus cneorum (above) is now likely to be sold only by its correct name, instead of also by its misnomer, Spomea cneorum. Although it belongs to a genus containing some notoriously pernicious weeds this is a very desirable nonsuckering evergreen shrub. It prefers a well-drained, sunny and dry position where it will attain a height of about three

feet and as much across. The leaves are covered with Silvery-silky hairs which impart a silvery blue-green appearance to the plant The flowers are white, sometimes pinkish .with a yellow blotch in the centre and also hairy on the outside. Flowering commences in October and continues over a long period from then on. This is a good subject for the scree garden.
