VACANCIES—PROFESSIONAL WEST COAST HOSPITAL BOARD WHOLE TIME ANAESTHETIST 2 Grey Hospital, Greymouth, New Zealand APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED for the above positions from suitable qualified Medical Officers registerable in New Zealand. There are two vacancies for the above posts based at Grey Hospital. The positions are of Specialist status and applicants should have been qualified for a minimum period of eight years, have had five years experience in the speciality and possess an appropriate higher qualification. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Hospital Employment (Medical Officers) Regulations in the Scale $6090-58100, plus Special Incentive Allowance for Hospital Medical Officers employed on the West Coast ranging from $3OO-$4OO. The commencing rate will be determined by the Director General of Health, having regard to qualifications and previous experience. Housing may be available and can be the subject of negotiation with applicants. The Anaesthetic, Resuscitation and allied services for the whole region are to be re-organised, co-ordinated and improved. The scheme is dependant upon the appointment of Two Full Time Specialists who will work in close conjunction and share responsibility by agreement for routine list surgery of 3 hospitals, for some emergency work at Grey Hospital, and for the organisation and maintenance of first aid resuscitation and emergency respiratory care and parental therapy procedures (in collaboration with local Specialists and Technologists and an advisory Haematologist) for the whole region. They may also be required to train part-time visiting medical staff as relief anaesthetists for all hospitals. Dr D. T.
