Withdrawal Of Appeal
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Aug. 20. An appeal by the deputy mayor of Manukau, Mrs Pauline Pearl Baker, against conviction in the Otahuhu Magistrate’s Court was abandoned in the Supreme Court today. She was convicted and fined $75 on June 19 on a charge of disclosing the contents of a letter not addressed to her. Counsel, Mr K. Ryan, said he had been instructed to withdraw the appeal. Mr Justice Moller consented to its being abandoned. He ordered i costs of $l5 to the Crown for I the first bearing of the appeal ‘•hga Mm was adjouraad.
