8-0 VICTORY IN HOCKEY
(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) PERTH. The touring New Zealand men’s hockey team yesterday defeated a Central Great Southern side, 8-0, at Tambellup. The local team provided stubborn opposition in the first half, holding New Zealand to 2-0. but later was overwhelmed. New Zealand's goals were scored by M. Somerville (4), G. Dayman (2), T. Borren, and K. Rigby.

The touring New Zealand Universities men’s hockey team overwhelmed a combined Melbourne and Tasmanian Univer sities side, 4-1, yesterday. K. Gorringe scored New Zealand’s four goals—three from penalty corners. It was an encouraging display by the touring side, which will now go into the match against Australian Universities tomorrow with great confidence.
